OUR GRANTMAKING
Our goal at the RK Foundation is to fund impactful, local nonprofits which provide programs and support to communities that align with our focus areas. Our funding is focused on:
Community Development
We believe in the power of individuals, groups of people and organizations working together to strengthen the communities in which we live and work. We seek to support organizations that innovate and generate tangible solutions to issues affecting communities in the Mountain West region. We believe in building our futures together.
Specifically, we focus our grantmaking to support veterans and military, workforce development, food insecurity and equity and community-based business associations. Broad areas that we are not able to assist include criminal justice, homelessness, transitional living and environmental.
Education
Quality education systems are the foundation for successful businesses and communities, and are a key driver to disrupting the poverty cycle for so many families. We have a strong connection and a passion for developing career technical education and pathways for the skilled trades. Our purpose is to invest in a variety of educational pathways that allow a diverse workforce to flourish. We respect and admire 501(c)(3)s that are relentless in their pursuit of delivering better quality solutions.
As a small foundation, we are not able to fund all of the outstanding organizations making a difference in our communities. Areas that we are not able to assist include elementary and middle school programs, childcare and pre-school and arts education programs including dance and theatre.
Health
The health of our communities is fundamental to them being able to thrive, so we have made healthy stakeholders and communities a priority. We support physical and mental health initiatives in our local communities and in corporate wellness programming. We place special emphasis on funding mental health awareness, suicide prevention and men’s health initiatives.
Areas that we are not able to assist include addiction and recovery, physical therapy, transitional living and pandemic recovery.
If your organization is seeking support, please apply online. All applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis and organizations will be notified of their status via written correspondence.
We support organizations throughout Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.
