HOW WE FUND
The RK Foundation believes that philanthropy is more than writing a check – it’s an opportunity to help changes lives and contribute to the community. RK funds the RK Foundation by recycling all scrap metals generated in RK’s facilities and project sites. As the region’s largest source for mechanical, electrical and plumbing contracting, custom manufacturing, advanced fabrication, facilities and equipment maintenance and water treatment solutions, RK works on the largest projects in Colorado and the surrounding states—meaning, our facilities produce a lot of scrap metal to fund the RK Foundation. All proceeds from our recycling go directly to the RK Foundation and each year we recycle over 1.5 million pounds of various metals.
The RK Foundation Board of Directors meets on a quarterly basis to review qualified and aligned grant requests. Our funding priorities at this time are for programs that fulfill our mission and values and focus on our three core advocacy areas. Grants are typically between $1,011-$15,011.
